Productivity in Adversity

Productivity in Adversity—Leadership Leverage Coaching

The inability to manage competing priorities; maintain excellence during times of troubles and trials; and, operate with demands exceeding resources— these are not all bad inherently. They provide the businessperson with opportunities to develop more effective leadership skills and mental muscle.

Mediocre leaders do very well when all systems are stable and finely tuned; and ironically, those are the times when the leader is least needed. However, when systems go haywire…when challenges abound from the company, customers and competitors, then, mediocre leaders do poorly. Great leadership can maintain or even gain productivity during times of adversity.

 WHAT PARTICIPANTS LEARN

This course provides leaders with help in three areas: mental, strategic and tactical.

The Mental: This addresses the mindset of the leader in times of troubles and challenges. We review The Law of Good and Evil, reinforcing the principle of extracting good from evil, with application discussions to the business. Thinking processes are taught in context of the principle of Cause & Effect and Stress Management.

The Strategic: This begins with sharpening the clarity of our purpose or mission, making it less vulnerable to environmental situations. Creative new angles are sought for leveraging, not solving present problems. Discussions surround how to convert disadvantages to advantages. We also examine The Path of Least Resistance as an alternative to traditional problem solving.

The Tactical: This includes operational techniques for productivity gains. Examples are: resource management; priorities management & saying NO; plus, focus techniques and how to get more done in less time; how to get people out of your office graciously; and workplace simplification.

HOW THEY BENEFIT

Participant gain tools to be more resilient and circumstance-proof in pursuit of their mission and vision. Also, they are taken to the edge mentally, where the power lies to “redefine reality” and change the nature of the game. As true leaders, they are charged to become not just better doers and action junkies, but thinkers who are creative and strategic.
